DESCRIPTION:Two Days of Beef\, Forage and Technology Education\nThe University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture will hold the Precision Livestock Farming: Beef & Forage Systems Field Day on September 22 and 23 at the Middle Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center in Spring Hill. The two-day program combines producer education on beef cattle and forage management with a closer look at precision livestock technologies being used in research and production systems. \nRegistration begins at 8 a.m. Central on the first day. Registration is $15 per person per day\, and University of Tennessee students\, faculty\, and staff may attend for free. You must register in advance. \nBeef and Forage Topics on Day One\nThe September 22 program focuses on production questions that cattle and forage producers face in the field.   Presentations will examine cow efficiency\, warm-season forages\, changes in Tennessee’s beef cattle industry\, conflicts involving black vultures\, and considerations related to the beef product itself. The day also includes time for participants to visit vendors and talk with University of Tennessee specialists. \nFor producers\, the first day’s value is the mix of animal\, forage\, and management topics.
