Cover Crops Your Way: Classroom Workshop

Start With the Classroom Session

Cover Crops Your Way begins October 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Burke County Center in Morganton. The two-part program is designed to help growers understand how different cover crops can fit their production systems and soil-management goals.

The classroom session will cover the benefits of cover crops, different cover-crop varieties, soil testing, equipment and development of a practical cover-crop plan.

Part One of a Two-Part Workshop

The October 22 session prepares participants for a hands-on field demonstration scheduled for November 14 at Oak Hill Community Park & Forest. The field session will focus on establishing different cover crops in the field.

The program is hosted by Burke County N.C. Cooperative Extension with partners including Burke Soil and Water Conservation District, Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina and Empowering Mountain Food Systems. Pre-registration is required.
