WVU Extension Winter and Spring 2027 Master Gardener Training Begins

What to expect

WVU Extension’s 2027 Master Gardener training provides 54 hours of instruction across 18 sessions in an online-hybrid format.

Schedule and location

The first class is January 7, 2027, from 6 to 9 p.m. Eastern. Classes continue on Thursdays through May 13. Topics include botany, soils, propagation, pests, plant disease, turf, vegetables, fruits, pruning, landscape design and West Virginia native plants. Some local sessions may be in person.

Registration and planning

Participants must register through a local WVU Extension office and complete the volunteer selection process, including background check, references and interview. The fee is $60 with an electronic manual or $120 with a printed manual. Check the official source before traveling because organizers may update capacity, access instructions or program details.
