Cleveland County Extension will offer Compiling Agribusiness End-of-Year Reports Nov. 16, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Eastern. Area specialized agribusiness agent Jennifer Badger will discuss financial statements, organizing data, analyzing performance and planning for the next season. The meeting is in the Extension auditorium at 130 S. Post Road in Shelby. Register by Nov. 10. A meal is provided.
Suggested preparation
Identify the question you most want your year-end records to answer. You may want a clearer view of an enterprise, a better way to organize documents or an explanation of a financial statement you have not used before. List the records you already keep and the gaps that make interpretation difficult. These are preparation suggestions, not a request to bring private financial information into a group setting or a guarantee of an individual business review.
Connect records with decisions
Consider how information moves from a sale, purchase or other transaction into the records you use to make decisions. Write down where that process becomes confusing or inconsistent. Ask which resources can help you understand a statement and which questions need a private conversation with an accountant or farm business adviser. A general education session does not determine the correct treatment of a specific transaction. Keep examples anonymous if you choose to ask a question publicly, and retain the source of any guidance you plan to follow up.
