Put Cover-Crop Planning Into Practice

The second session of Cover Crops Your Way will be held November 14 from 10 a.m. to noon at Oak Hill Community Park & Forest in Morganton. This hands-on demonstration follows the October 22 classroom workshop and focuses on establishing different cover crops in the field.

Participants will see practical techniques for cover-crop establishment and build on earlier instruction about species selection, soil testing, equipment and planning.

A Hands-On Follow-Up

The field session gives growers an opportunity to connect classroom information with actual planting and establishment practices. The two-part format is intended to help farmers and gardeners choose cover crops that match their goals and understand how to put those choices into practice.

The demonstration will be held at Oak Hill Community Park & Forest, 820 NC-126 in Morganton. The program is hosted by Burke County N.C. Cooperative Extension with regional partners. Pre-registration is required, and participants can contact Burke County Extension at 828-764-9480 for information.
