What to expect

Leap Into Sheep gives first-time youth exhibitors a supported opportunity to raise and show a lamb with help from the youth livestock program.

Schedule and location

Applications are due December 1, 2026. The program is limited to listed participating counties and to beginners who have not previously shown animals through this program. The official notice lists participating counties; Highlands readers should check county eligibility carefully.

Registration and planning

The $50 registration fee covers the lamb, one bag of feed, a blanket, feed trough and halter. Families remain responsible for other project expenses.
